Chelsy
Swenson a 16 year old girl, determined
to become a well known professional motocross racer in a male
dominated sport. When Chelsy
was twelve years old her father brought home a 1972 Elsonor
50cc. This bike was intended to inspire her younger brother.
Little did her father know that it would be the spark that would
ignite Chelsy's passion for racing. She quickly moved up the
ranks to a CR125. At fourteen she made the decision to become
a motocross racer. She dedicated herself, and practiced as often
as possible with anybody that would take her to a track. Soon
after she entered her first local race, she took 1st &2nd
throughout the series. She then came in 1st place in the over
all competion.
Chelsy
is not just another girl competing in Motocross; she's a girl
with natural athletic ability and incredible personal drive
to succeed in this sport. In her first year of high school,
she joined her school track team and led them to City regionals.
This year, in order to stay focused and keep the competive spirt
alive, she decided to prepare for racing by joining her schools
swim team. She awakes every morning at 4:30am before school
starts and begins her training. After studing all day she heads
off to train for her up coming motocross races.
How does she do this? Why does she do this? The answer is simple
she has passion; passion is what lead her to win 2nd place in
the recent Gold Cup Series. Her enthusiasm has led others to
give her support, such as O'Neal, The Racers Edge and JP racing.
Chelsy
is committed to this sport and has the necessary drive to succeed.
She knows she will become a number one well known professional
motocross racer.
